This is the photo which I shot at Klong Toey. The reason I selected this photo over the many others which I took that morning is because it is so appealing to the viewer since it such an adorable photo. It also depicts the relationship between these two children, clearly the child in the pink is the older sister, that protects her baby sister.

My buddy from the school in Klong Toey took this photo of this young girl. We entered a small park where several children were playing; including this young girl and her two brothers. My buddy attempted to take a photo of this girl because she was attempting to capture a snapshot of the lives of these youths in the slums.

I particularly like this picture because it truly captured the subject’s personality. I asked the subject how he would like to pose, so this picture is of significance to the subject himself. The composition of this photo is well shot, consisting of the fence in the foreground, and the rugby field in the background. Specifically, I like the lighting in this photo because it was taken in very bright natural light which encloses the darkened figure of the subject. I would have preferred more contrast however, as the light seems to be even and constant throughout the photo. I cropped this photo so that the background was relevant and significant to the picture.

While taking this photo, I attempted to explore odd
perspectives of a more mundane subject, such as the conventional repetition of
the stairwell. I tried to take my photo from different angles to see which
angle could distort this image in the most appealing way. The image portrays varied tonal contrasts,
from the light floors to the darkness of the railings. The textures are also
dissimilar as the smooth metal hand railings greatly differ from the rough,
grainy texture of the stairs, which also contrast to the glossy shine of the
paint on the railings. The use of
lines in this picture manages to unify the separate floors.
